Inner Sleeve Condition

The original red bordered “MONO” inner sleeve with the shaped mouth/opening is completely intact (NO seam splits!).  It does have a couple of light creases, and the original owner wrote “The Rolling Stones, Let it Bleed” in small, dark blue print in the upper right-hand corner.  A beautiful completely intact example of this rare inner sleeve that was designed specifically for this particular album.  Of course the record has not been stored in this paper inner-sleeve since long before I acquired it, the record has been stored properly in a poly-plastic inner sleeve to protect the vinyl from paper scuffs (and to protect the original paper sleeve from seam-splits).

Cover Condition

Cover in beautiful Ex+ condition. There are no seam-splits at all, it has the properly pinched spine at the top and bottom of course, all spine text is easily legible and the laminate (front only, of course) is completely intact.  The back cover has the mono/stereo hole in the upper right-hand corner, and includes the original STICKER firmly attached stating “Full Color ROLLING STONES POSTER Included” on the back.  No writing or tears anywhere, a super condition example of this particularly fragile cover.

Poster Condition

The original poster is M- and like new, clearly it has rarely been outside the cover and never displayed.  No “aging” of any kind.  No pin-holes, no tape marks, no writing, no folded or curled corners.  This example is crisp and clean with vivid colors.

Record Label Condition

With just 4 extremely light and barely visible spindle marks to the Side 1 label, and only 3 light spindle marks near the hole on Side 2, these labels could not be much nicer.  The silver text is bright and clear against the red (mono) background of these unworn labels.  Beautiful M- examples.

Record Condition

A beautiful, HEAVY (thick) original 1969 UK record Lp, and the mono version is such a hard record to find in really nice condition.  The vinyl has a mirror-like finish and all indications are that this is a very lightly played example of a rare and much sought after UK first issue of this Rolling Stones’ classic.  A superb playing surface, there just a few light scuff marks or “wispy” lines as would be expected, this record plays all the way through with crisp, clear and superb mono sound.  I’ve had this record in my collection for years, I just never seem to get around to playing it.  I took a careful once-through play today though (7-23-06), I had forgotten how incredible this mono pressing is. 

In addition to giving the record a conservative overall grade of Ex++, I took the time to grade each song individually below (please see the track-listing).  This record plays M- all the way through with the exception of one audible mark on one song (see song # 2 below), hence the Ex++ grade.  I believe you will have a very difficult time finding a better playing example of this exceptionally rare and desirable album.

Album was stored in a heavy outer plastic protective cover when I purchased it, and has been stored the same way ever since.

37 years old now…

…and a required album for any Rolling Stones fan, a super rare and complete MONO example!

Light mark that causes an audible “click” halfway through the song for 3 revolutions.  Occurs again at very end of the song, but does not run into the intro of “Country Honk” (VG+)

3.  Country Honk  3:07

Beautiful clean intro, strong and clear all the way through, superb (M-)

4.  Live With Me  3:33

Another beauty, clean intro and outro (M-)

5.  Let It Bleed  5:27

Finishing this side strong with a clean intro, magnificent throughout (M-)

Amazingly silent intro, clear and strong, superb in quiet passages too (M-)

2.  You Got the Silver  2:50

Superb and quiet intro!  Fantastic all the way through, amazing for this track… (M-)

4.  You Can't Always Get What You Want  7:28

A few soft “clicks” at the beginning/intro, then smooth, clear and strong throughout, finishing with a clean outro/run-out grooves (Ex+ due to light “clicks” in intro)

AMG Review - 5 Stars

Mostly recorded without Brian Jones — who died several months before its release (although he does play on two tracks) and was replaced by Mick Taylor (who also plays on just two songs) — this extends the rock and blues feel of Beggars Banquet into slightly harder-rocking, more demonically sexual territory. The Stones were never as consistent on album as their main rivals, the Beatles, and Let It Bleed suffers from some rather perfunctory tracks, like "Monkey Man" and a countrified remake of the classic "Honky Tonk Woman" (here titled "Country Honk"). Yet some of the songs are among their very best, especially "Gimme Shelter," with its shimmering guitar lines and apocalyptic lyrics; the harmonica-driven "Midnight Rambler"; the druggy party ambience of the title track; and the stunning "You Can't Always Get What You Want," which was the Stones' "Hey Jude" of sorts, with its epic structure, horns, philosophical lyrics, and swelling choral vocals. "You Got the Silver" (Keith Richards' first lead vocal) and Robert Johnson's "Love in Vain," by contrast, were as close to the roots of acoustic down-home blues as the Stones ever got. - by Richie Unterberger

Domestic (USA) Packaging:

You will see from my eBay feedback that I package very securely.  Records are removed from jackets to prevent seam-splits, records and covers are placed inside plastic outer protective covers, and "sandwiched" between two cardboard "stiffeners" before being placed inside a "Bags Unlimited" (or equivalent) cardboard record mailer box.  This box is then sealed and placed inside a larger box, and surrounded with crumpled newspaper to prevent movement and for shock absorption.  Double boxed, for your record's protection and safe delivery. 

I have not had any problems with damaged records as a result of my own packaging, but I do recommend Insurance on the more expensive items, I cannot be held responsible for what happens to the package after it leaves my possession.
