THE ROLLING STONES - 'BIG HITS (HIGH TIDE & GREEN GRASS)'
1966 UK 1st MONO PRESSING LP
This superb disc forms part of a unbeatable collection of top condition Rolling Stones UK 1st pressings which I have the pleasure to list this week. Please take a look at my shop to view the complete collection, which also includes a STEREO copy of this LP.
This fine 1966 greatest hits package is an early UK 1st MONO pressing on the 'deep-grooved' unboxed blue & silver Decca label: TXL 101
Housed in a lavish outer laminated 'Robert Stace' printed gatefold cover with the 12" x 12" booklet stapled inside.
Being a true 1st pressing, the spine shows the mono catalogue number only & there is no mono/stereo indicator hole on the rear panel.
Complete with its original white printed poly-lined inner-sleeve.
Matrices: XARL-7503-1A & XARL-7504-4A
Stamper codes: 1/B & 2B/I
A 'KT' purchase tax code is present in both run-outs.

Clean & bright overall with some spindle marks to each centre hole and slight wear around that on label 2.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Both playing surfaces of this cherished copy as totally unmarked and 'as new' when inspected in strong daylight AND directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp. This fine copy lies 100% flat when playing, with no dishing or warping.
Play: VERY GOOD +
This copy has received quite a number of careful plays and my play-check at volume did detect some light play wear and slight background between tracks. I also found a few light clicks on the introduction to 'Paint It Black' and at the end of 'As Tears Go By', but certainly no major blemishes or any other significant faults.
Cover
EXCELLENT -
A respectable example of this easily damaged cover which bears a very clean & high-gloss leaf laminate and would have been graded the full EXCELLENT if it were not for a small area of missing paper mid-way along the upper edge. There is a little bruising to the left corners but no other significant signs of wear. Inside, the booklet is fully intact with no creased or worn pages and no stress or wear around either staple. All seams are smooth & unstressed and the spine is clean, square and unworn.
Inner-sleeve
EXCELLENT
Clean & white with a few unavoidable storage creases but no writing, splits or tears.
