1968 UK 1st MONO PRESSING LP


This superb disc forms part of a unbeatable collection of top condition Rolling Stones UK 1st pressings which I have the pleasure to list this week. Please take a look at my shop to see the complete collection.


This beautiful NEAR MINT copy is a 1968 UK 1st MONO pressing on the unboxed red & silver Decca label: LK 4955


Housed in an outer laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed gatefold cover.

Complete with its original red 'mono' printed poly-lined inner-sleeve.


Matrices: XARL-8476-4A & XARL-8477-2A

Stamper codes: 1/CM & 1/CB

A 'JT' purchase tax code is present in both run-outs.

A truely superb set with no more than two or three faint spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.

Visual: NEAR MINT

Both playing surfaces appear totally 'as new' in strong daylight and are completely free from any surface marks or wear. Close examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals nothing more than some insignificant wispy inner-sleeve removal hairlines but definately no other visual blemishes whatsoever. This quality piece of vinyl lies 100% flat when playing, with no dishing or warping.

Play: NEAR MINT

This barely played copy does not disappoint. All tracks play cleanly & clearly with no traces of any groove/play wear anywhere. My careful playcheck at volume uncovered no clicks, pops, jumps or any other audible distraction or fault. You will struggle to find a better looking or sounding copy of this rare mono pressing.

Cover

EXCELLENT +

The laminate on this outstanding example shines 'as new'. The front leaf is bright & clean with the only blemishes being one tiny mark under the laminate itself beneath the 'r' of 'Beggars' & a single thumbnail wrinkle. There is a hint of bruising to the two front left corner but all are in overall superb shape. All opening edges are clean & sharp with just a hint of wear to the rear edge, but certainly no tears or feathering. The inside of the gatefold is immaculate and the rear panel is pretty much 'as new' with just a very faint disc impression but no creasing ot 'thumbnails' anywhere. All seams are perfectly smooth & unstressed and the spine is fully laminated and perfectly worded.

Clean & flat with just a touch of light storage but no writing, splits or tears anywhere.
