Selling-up my extensive record collection. Lots of interesting LPs in the collection - do have a look at my other items, and there are new listings every week. This is not a promo, despite the black-and-white labels, but is quite rare. My album is exactly this on Discogs - www.discogs.com/The-Rolling-Stones-Aftermath/release/4277761 . I don't have any interesting provenance for this, I just got it in a secondhand shop. Good cover, record is crackly in parts. Matrices - XZAL 7209 1W and XZAL 7210 2W.

Cover - Matching stereo cover, front-laminated, no flipbacks but lamination goes over to edge of the back at spine, typical of 60s Decca covers. Front - Lamination still pretty good, but ring-wear has taken the shine off in two rings. Seven scallop creases, from taking record out with big clumsy fingers. There's a cut in the lamination towards the top (to the left of Charlie's hair). Some cracks in from edges, as we usually see. A couple of bits of sellotape at bottom edge - which actually seems not to be split. Edges and spine are good, spine very legible. Light wear and grubbiness at opening (where lamination doesn't quite reach the edge) Back somewhat formed to shape of the record, more at top than at bottom, some grubbiness at top of the ring formed to record edge, at the top, and at the opening. Generally good, not torn, split or written-on.  Discogs notes say matt sleeve, but photos show one just like mine. 

Record - has quite a few flaws, so I've done a play-test too (see later). On side one, I saw a scratch on track 2, and a very light scratch on track 5. There is also a light scratch running from track one to track 3, and a scratch from track 4 into track 5. That may not be all. On side 2, I saw two scratches on track one, and two ugly fingernail type impacts, one from track 5 into track 6, the other across track 8. There is a scuff on track 4, a scratch across tracks 5 and 6, and a light scratch across tracks 3, 4 and 5.  As sixties records often "play better than it looks", I had a listen to it. Side 2 first - noisy at the start, before the group get loud, occasional crackles later in the track. As side progressed, crackles are not heard or are very background when the music is loud, but are audible, noticeable, when music is quiet. Side 1 - generally plays well, but on quiet track "Lady Jane", some soft crackles and some louder ones, plus a "skritch" noise at start. I noticed a couple of crackles in the intro to "Going Home" (then lost attention after that, but should be OK). So, side one better than side 2.  In-between crackles, general sound is very good, loud and clear, things sound as they should, not worn-out.

I have been collecting records for 50 years (when finances allowed!), and now it's time to sell-up. I bought them mostly around local shops (second-hand), but sometimes from e-bay, and sometimes new, for my favourite bands.

When I'm checking for damage on records, I look at them carefully with my reading glasses on, in good daylight. This method detects any bits of damage that will affect what you hear when listening to it - and lots that are not audible. Using a spotlight or direct sunlight shows more surfacey marks sometimes, but I don't do that - records are for listening to, not trying to see your face in.

I don't mail things personally, to countries outside the UK - ( I mean it, don't ask) - but I am happy to use E-Bay UK's Global Shipping Program, for sending things abroad.

Under this scheme, I send the parcel to an e-bay depot in UK, and they forward it to the overseas buyer.

They have a tracked courier service, for the journey from their UK depot, to the buyer.

This means that I can ONLY accept payments through e-bay (Pay Now button), and I can't send invoices. Combined postage may or may not be possible through the Program - if e-bay shows combined postage for their courier job, I'll do combined postage for the transit inside UK. I can't see information about this until you pay.

International buyers should be able to see a postage cost to their country, you may have to input your location, if your country is included in the scheme.

I WILL DEFINITELY NOT post to countries that are not included in the above lists, and I don't send to China.
