Description

Roger Glover (Deep Purple/Rainbow/David Coverdale): The Butterfly Ball/Wizards Convention. Double Vinyl LP + 7” interview single.

This is the Connoisseur Collection with the excellent Simon Robinson designed packaging and sleeve notes

Connoisseur Collection: Cat No: VSOP LP 139.

When originally bought (new in Our Price - those were the days) I only played the 7” interview single (as I had other copies of the albums). Disc was then filed away on a shelf…only to now surface.

Outer sleeve in excellent condition, sharp corners no splits. Original front sticker, very slightest beginnings of disc indentation  on the top part of the front of sleeve, otherwise

Both albums unplayed, unmarked with deep gloss lustre with no obvious flaws. No spindle wear.

NB the label to side 3 (Wizards Convention) is slightly bobbly, a reaction to original adhesive backing (?), with very slight loss of print definition – see photos.

Please see the photos.

7” single

Butterfly Ball limited edition interview with Roger Glover.

Connoisseur Collection CC1 (Not for Sale)

Sleeve mint. Disc mint (played once!)

Selling on behalf of my Dad (who supplied all the info) from his personal collection, from the olden days when he collected vinyl.

I aim to use recycled packaging when possible, but rest assure that your vinyl will be well packed and protected against the trials of postal travel!

Important perspective info, please read….thanks ?.

A few words about the vinyl grading.

I try to be as honest as possible, but all grades are based upon an experienced but ultimately subjective visual inspection, trying to identify and highlight obvious issues.

Back in the day whilst my Dad purchased much of the vinyl new, as he expanded his collection, (eventually running into a few thousand discs) hence many only played once, inevitably he was drawn to second hand (pre-loved) copies of certain discs, including the rarer original 1970’s issue boots.

As you will appreciate, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this or looking at the listing, the nature of many of these live/unofficial recordings meant that original production standards were not necessarily a top priority, with occasional mastering/pressing faults occurring.

Similarly with any second hand vinyl which in some cases is almost 50 years old they will potentially exhibit aural signs of having been played, sometimes a fair bit..these are not mint, new unplayed discs (unless stated).

The attraction for my Dad was either obtaining the different variations of an issue or otherwise unavailable rare recordings…its called collecting!

When playing vinyl my Dad had a Technics SL1800 turntable with Ortfon cartridge, so no thrashing and grinding on an old  fidelity UA4! (early 70’s starter bedroom lo-fi, crank it up ?).
