GASOLINE ALLEY

IMPOSSIBLE to locate TEXTURED gatefold sleeve only found with the earliest FIRST UK pressings!!! Only a very few were manufactured and hardly any located nowadays . Mega, mega RARE! Possibly a final upgrade as vinyl is virtually unmarked and aural delivery is superb!

S T U N N I N G example of this magnificent rock classic!

Best I have ever had the pleasure to view.

First issue HOWARDS PRINTERS ,opening gatefold sleeve in EXCELLENT/+ condition. Rare textured outer faces to replicate the cobbling effect on houses/street. ONLY found on the earliest first issues. What a feel to this gatefold. Clean and freshly pressed appearance. Spine square and solid, uncrushed clearly showing title. Pink vertigo spiral logo projects prominently in upper right, unfaded and in perfect symmetry. Corners showing their grey tips. Minimal  ring wear. Edge wear light, on lower edges. No discoloration and coloration of the grey, black and white inks are strong and precise as if printed only yesterday .Opens to near perfect inner faces. Remarkable condition as most are found heavily worn and damaged. Minor rub on spinal edge and no other damage to report !!!

Inner spiral sleeve in excellent/+ format . The original with poly lining holding tight ,with an ultra clean appearance  . NO rips/tears.  Just some age discoloration around outer edges. Beautiful collectors’ item . Will not come across better than this example…Very carefully handled over the past 38 years!

Spiral labels

Black and white vertigo swirl with a tremendous mesmeric effect. Please be aware that, only a full vertigo swirl circle, immediately placed above the central spindle hole, is a very FIRST label issue. Other labels with vertigo printed above central hole, are not first issue labels. This is an original, genuine ,first UK pressing and is one of the hardest to locate .Most found are later reissues . A superb collectors’ item . Ex+ with NO mottling, peeling or lifting. Spindle trace minimal on swirl side and faint spindle lines on side B. Stunning !

Vinyl

Appears virtually unmarked under ordinary light conditions . Mirror like sheen very similar to mint vinyl. Highly polished surfaces and convey a stunning visual appearance. Thick cut , heavyweight MONSTER slab with a tremendous feel .Later reissues are thinner and lightweight, compared to this master piece. Two surface hairlines on first track side 2 which are very difficult to pick up against the high gloss finish. Have never seen a better example of this vertigo release .

Audio

Best I have heard from this release. Mostly excellent/+, with clear channels which operate in sensational style . Hardly any surface disturbance . Side B between tracks 1 and 2 ,a faint static hiss for a few seconds ,then soon passes ,when vocals are delivered. Also similar static during opening grooves track 1 same side ,then mostly beautifully clear channels . No other disturbance to highlight. Absolutely awesome tones .  NO pops. NO ticks nor clicks. Audio graded from my Project/Cambridge hi fi system . Outstanding aural delivery!

A sensational example of a monumental vintage rock classic . Virtually impossible to locate in this stunning condition . True investment quality .
