Description

An original 1970 copy of RAINCOAT on UK Vertigo. Matrix 1/3. First released in 1969 this copy comes just a couple of years down the line. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover with the left panel glued shut [forming a very nice solid panel]. We also have a plastic bag warning inner sleeve from the time. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In great condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I couldn't make out more than a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. By and large a real nice clean player - even into the quieter moments. Dirty Old Town - plays impressively clean. Handbags plays much better than you typically find - with just the odd minor crackle here and there. I detected a couple of ticks in the intro to 'Constant Sorrow'. Other than that a great little player.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) Wowzer - I bet this isn't easy to find... This unlaminated cover is in extremely rude health. Smooth to the touch and clean as they come. That opening panel is perfectly rigid - very impressive. I can't even make out a crease back or front - and its perfectly flat. The interior is just perfect - there's hardly any light fade in or out. Edge wear is minimal for this title - just tiniest amounts in a couple of spots. The spine is 100% intact and the openings are perfectly sharp. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. FINAL UPGRADE.
Inner (Vg+) Some light ageing. No splits.
