In the early 90s I was a record dealer buying in Brazil and I would always keep the best condition copies of great albums for myself. Records in Brazil in those days were almost always trashed or ruined with sticky alcohol (supposedly to clean them). Any pristine examples I would hang on to and clean them back in the UK on a professional industrial grade record cleaner.
I also have a bunch of Tim Maia LPs I’m listing. These are ORIGINAL first pressings and not recent vinyl reissues.
This is VERY rare copy of Robson Jorge’s 1977 solo album - first pressing! In all the years I was buying records in Brazil I only ever saw two copies of this, and this is one of them. Recorded with his long term producing partner Lincoln Olivetti it features all the key elements of the Olivetti/Jorge sound that later made this pair the most famous producers in Brazil.
Condition:
Cover is VG++ Typical Brazilian collector hack of using a plastic record sleeve protector and sellotaping it to the inside of the opening. Could easily be removed with a craft knife. Actually the cover underneath has been well protected by having this cover. Has some red ball pen writing on reverse - see photo
Humidity and atmosphere in Rio mean that most vintage LP sleeves have some discolouration or foxing.
LP is VG+ - vinyl very glossy, but it does have a couple of light scratches and a light scuff on track one of side B - this was a funk / soul party album so extremely hard to find in any condition!
PLEASE NOTE: I no longer own a record player and these gradings are VISUAL.
Brazilian vinyl from this era ALWAYS had pops and other small issues when playing even when factory sealed. For a super rare LP from 40 years ago this is in the best condition possible.
