ULTRA RARE 1993 U.K. ORIGINAL vinyl pressing of Robert Plant’s ‘Fate of Nations’ L.P. (Catalogue Reference: Fontana 514 867-1).  This is a really hard one to find mainly because record labels in the early 90s were pressings these in very limited quantities for a very limited market.  Accordingly, the quality of these pressing is highly questionable.  Both the cardboard sleeve and the vinyl are about as thin as they could make them.  This means by default that finding these records in decent condition is that much harder.  This is a solid copy.  The sleeve and inner are in solid EXCELLENT condition.  Each of the corners has sustained a light knock.  This has resulted in the black print being removed and these exposed edges being white.  There is a very light dig to the opening edge presumably a result of the cellophane being removed.  Considering how thin it is there are no bends.  The inner sleeve is also in EXCELLENT condition.  Two corners have received light knocks and there is one bend however, the vinyl hasn’t made a break for it (which is quite a common phenomena on inner sleves).  The vinyl is graded as being in VERY GOOD+/EXCELLENT- condition.  This copy has clearly been enjoyed as hairline scratches are visible on the surface (not surprising when vinyl is stored in cardboard inner) BUT there are no marks visible in normal daylight (i.e. no deep, substantial marks).  It is a very respectable copy (more condition details below).

L.P. Cover + Inner

This is in EXCELLENT condition.   A cheap, thin sleeve, which is still in very respectable condition.  Each corner is a little frayed as a result of receiving a light knock, which has resulted in the white being revealed.  There is a light dig and a little wear to the opening edge of the sleeve, which I would guess has resulted from the cellophane being removed.  Any damage the sleeve has sustained is very superficial and would largely fall under the banner ‘shelf wear’.  There are no tears, bends etc.  The inner is also in EXCELLENT condition.  The vinyl hasn’t broken through but two corners have received light knocks, which have resulted in a light bend around the vinyl.

Vinyl

This has been graded under an intense light and is graded as being in VERY GOOD+/EXCELLENT- condition.  I am deliberately under-grading this.  This copy was clearly enjoyed at the time, as reasonable volumes of light hairline scratches are visible.  These are a result of the vinyl being removed from the cardboard inner however, there are no scratches of any substance (i.e. of any real depth, visible in normal daylight etc.).  Still a great copy!
