Description

Visions Of The Country is simply an L.P. of Guitar Paintings of the Americas and other joy. It uses the folk ballad style of song and the flowing Raga style of Hindu music to express the feeling and texture of the American Wilderness Panoramique.

Robbie Basho was a life long devotee of Avatar Meher Baba

SIDE ONE:

GREEN RIVER SUITE:

A painting of the Grand Tetons, the Snake River, the Wind River Range, and ending in the poetic title of the Green River.

RODEO:

A short country piece for guitar

ROCKY MOUNTAIN RAGA:

A musical statement portraying the Love Tryst between Man, Nature, and the Almighty. Maria is the name I used for the Madonna of the Mountains (an American Laela). I am aided by the fine violinist Antoinette Marcus.

VARIATIONS ON EASTER:

A folk guitar piece based on the work of Leo Kottke

BLUE CRYTAL FIRE: A love song

ORPHAN'S LAMENTE:

To all the little orphans of the rainbow; and may they find the gentle hand of the Creator.

To Yuma Sumac; An excursion to the "mountain around which things move."

NIGHT WAY:

A guitarist's celebration of the Southwest, inspired by the Navaho Nightway Chant.
