Ritchie Valens – The Ritchie Valens Memorial Album
Iconic posthumous tribute compilation released three years after Ritchie Valens’ tragic death in the February 3, 1959 plane crash (“The Day the Music Died”). This was the very first Ritchie Valens LP ever issued and remains one of the most sought-after rock & roll memorial albums of the early 1960s.

Updated posthumous greatest hits compilation, originally released in December 1962 with a somber black cover (DFLP-1225 initial pressing). Rare because due to poor sales from the "downer" presentation, a quick February 1963 reissue was retitled and repackaged with a brighter white cover featuring a smiling photo of Ritchie from his Del-Fi EP Ritchie Valens Sings (DFEP-1111). It remains a key entry in Chicano rock history, compiling Valens' chart hits and standout tracks from his earlier Del-Fi albums.
