Description
For your consideration is this rare Ritchie Adams “ I cant escape from you / Road to nowhere “ northern soul promo 45 rpm record on Congress. Record is very clean with great gloss but the “ I cant escape from you” side has a haze mark from the run in grooves to the run out grooves. Please see photos of this. It does affect play and gives a “whoosh/ surface noise” type noise when stylus passes over it but is really only audible in the intro and really noticeable in the outro of the song but does not over power the music. Because of this mark i’d grade this side a VG or a strong VG-. The other side is a strong VG+ with very minimal signs of handling but I did spot a small pressing dimple in this side but DNAP. Both labels are in good shape with a blue letter written on either side. Very small stain above the O and N in CONGRESS on the Escape from you side. Very slight ring wear at the 7 o’clock position on the Road to Nowhere label. I played this on two players and it did not skip or jump and sounded great despite the issue on the one side. Very very slight storage warp but dnap. Comes in it’s original Congress paper sleeve that has one small stain and a number written in the top right corner on both sides. Sleeve is not ripped, torn, or split but is not mint. Matrix numbers are as followed:
Plug Side: k-9713-1 Stamped R on opposite side
Other side: k-9715-1 Stamped R on opposite side
This is a genuine copy and not a repro/boot. A must have for any soul collector despite it’s flaws and not being a near mint copy. I try to accurately describe all of my records and all are shipped in appropriate mailers within poly sleeves.
I did include a snippet of the intro and outro of the plug side that has the haze issue to give you an idea of how it sounds.
