Description

Sentimental Journey is the debut solo album by the ex-Beatle drummer. It was released on Apple Records in March 1970 as the Beatles were breaking up. The album is a collection of pre-rock and roll standards that Starr recalled fondly from his growing up in Liverpool. Despite fans confusion on Starr’s selection of popular music, the album reached #22 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums Chart. Starr chose George Martin to produce the album and the individual tracks were arranged by Paul McCartney, Klaus Voorman, Maurice Gibb and American arrangers and producers Quincy Jones, Richard Perry and Elmer Bernstein. Nice first press on Apple from 1970 here.
