Rigoletto - Complete Set on Seven Phonotype 12" Discs
New pressings on vinyl from original masters
IMPORTANT NOTE: This set includes matrix #1944 from the "Barbiere di Siviglia" set which was listed a day ago with a note indicating that number was missing. Please visit my "Other Items" to see the "Barbiere" set.
This is not really a complete recording of the opera, but rather a compilation of records from the Phonotype catalog. However, there are many fine recordings by artists including Fernando de Lucia, Angela de Angelis, Benvenuto Franci and many more. The previous owner has handwritten a list that helps put the recordings in the proper sequence. These records are new pressings on high quality vinyl, made from the original metal masters. Sound quality is excellent (considering their age) and the records are in perfect condition - no defects of any kind. Most do not have labels, but a hand written sticker on each side fully identifies the selections. These vinyl pressings were issued in very limited quantities, and are becoming quite collectible on their own. I'll grade this set a 10 on a scale of 10.
