Rare Northern Soul 45

This is a METAL ACETATE / REFERENCE DISC copy of this fine record from Rick Baker. Very rare - so much so that no one is willing to share the songs! Try finding it on YouTube - everything is there, but not this! Not posted on any record blogs that I can find either. I'll be posting samples recorded from this 45 later tonight. I have graded this record as VG, there is no cover. The sticker labels have the song run times written on them, in pen on both sides and also in pencil on the A side. The record has many scuffs and light scratches. There is still a nice shine to it though and trying to photograph the scratches was difficult - please take a look at the pics, there are many of them so you know what you are getting! I played each side just once with no skips or loud clicks or pops and only a few pops on "Got You". The record is quite noisy due to it being an acetate - this is not a vinyl record! - this is the same lacquer material that master records are made from, a much softer substance that allows the grooves to be etched into the sides. Cut on a lathe, acetates are for reference - to approximate the sound of your final record immediately. "Cut" a record and put it on the turntable just like that. No record plants involved. That said, it is not meant to be played repeatedly so I am primarily selling it as a rare collectible. This may have been cut for for the recording engineers, for the record label, to get to a DJ for airplay before the records were actually pressed, possibly even for Mr. Baker himself. I can't even say this is the same mix as the pressed record because I have no reference! For the right price, you can find the Marquette pressing of this 45, but good luck finding another acetate of it. This was dug up in Sacramento, CA, only a 90 minute drive away from San Francisco (Columbus Recording) where this record was cut (and likely recorded since Rick Baker was from the Bay Area). Grateful Dead, CCR, and many other Bay Area greats recorded at Columbus in the late 1960's.
