Rhys Chatham - die donnergetter LP (1987, Homestead Records) Excellent condition! This avant-garde composer could be compared to Glenn Branca, and in fact he previously was a member of Branca's massed guitar orchestras. Dense, minimal tone clusters with a strong sense of melody. While technically close in composition to classical avant-garde, in fact to my ears the sounds are closer to rock or post-rock. One tune is based on drum and bugle corps music! Rare and long out of print!
