Rev Robert Wilkins remains one of the key influencial figures to a generation of guitarists of the 50's 60's folk and blues revival ,I among them.The Stones covered his anthym, Prodigal Son in an abreviated fashion on their 1968 Let It Bleed lp but here (among other poignant tunes recorded for Piedmont in 1964) is the original hymn played solo and live by its creator the original pre war country blues great ,Robert Wilkins . Great liner notes by noted historian Dick Spottswood including a bio and Wilkins complete recording history typical of the late Bill Givens and Pete Whelan label, Origin Jazz Library label ,a small outfit in Santa Monica Ca who offered some of the best pre war blues reissues c 1960-80 ever compiled. From my own collection, jacket, lp and inner sleeve are in excellent condition,played only a few times then stored since the mid 80's. Its the old thick vinyl,deep groove pressing . Rare and scarce, OJL 8052 represents a wonderful and highly sought after addition to any blues lovers collection. International buyers welcome, pay any duties in own country.
