Description

Here we have an ORIGINAL lovely 1970 Reggae LP! It’s “Hot Numbers Volume One” on PAMA PMP-2006. It's a "various artists" collection, showcasing recordings from 1968 and 1969.

It features Owen Gray, Max Romeo, Lloyd Jackson, Rupie Edwards Allstars, The Upsetters, Carl (Carl who?), Eugene Paul, The Youth (is he Big?), D D Dennis, Charlie Ace, Pate Kelly and The Justins.

The sleeve is pretty darn good for a Reggae LP that’s more than fifty years old. There are some light creases on the front, especially visible near the spine.. The rear of the sleeve is fairly acceptable although “Smokey” has writ his name (and some kisses) in felt-tip upon it. This looks as though it’s water-based, so skilful work with a proprietary product and a cotton bud may well remove most of it.  A few minutes with an artist’s soft eraser will soon have the rest of the back looking very nice too. There are no rips or tears but it is a bit scruffy.

Let’s call it an honest collectable VG or thereabouts.


The disc is nice and clean and plays very well and doesn’t skip or stick.

There are some visible marks but they don’t interfere with play and most are inaudible (a few clicks at the start of both sides).

It isn’t perfect, but it’s perfectly collectable.

PLEASE NOTE: In the photos, you can see what look like cloudy marks.. but these are.. er.. erm.. clouds reflected when photographing the disc outdoors, where the light is free!

Let’s call it an honest collectable VG+

I’ve seen much rougher copies at record fairs, often at preposterous prices.

I am not a dealer.

I am just an old bloke thinning out his lifetime collection of STUFF before the floor collapses.

I'm selling most of this stuff for much less than I paid for it.

I am certainly NOT INTERESTED IN PROFIT..

..and indeed, seldom make any!

The LP in the photograph is the LP you will get.

I have described the item to the best of my ability, and everything looks in splendid condition to me.
