One for the serious collector this! For sale I have the extremely rare 1970 Progressive Blues Red Dirt - 'Red Dirt' vinyl LP on the Fontana label, catalogue number ST5540. Red Dirt cut this one self-titled record for Fontana before disbanding. The album is now a holy grail to record collectors the world over. Silver print on Black Label with laminated sleeve. The numbers from the centre run off are: 886788 1Y//1 (2Y//1 side 2) ^420 (^ is an inverted triangle). This album hasnt seen a turntable for over 35 years until this week. The vinyl has scratches and marks as usually found on something this old, but I've played it through on my Linn Sondek LP12 and there are no skips or jumps at ALL and there is no distortion. I would grade the vinyl as VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT and the cover as GOOD, using the normal guide you all know about. This album was produced in 1970. According to a rare record site I have come across, it is now considered an ultra rarity as apparently only 200 copies were ever sold, making it one of the most sought-after progressive blues albums EVER. To give you an indication of its rarity and price, I have found two other copies for sale online, and both are priced at around £2200. The LP was sound engineered by Mike Bobak & Robin Black,and produced by Geoff Gill. The band members were from East Yorkshire. Steve Jackson - Drums. Ken Giles - Bass. Dave Richardson - Steel Guitar/Piano/Organ/Harmonica/Lead Vocals. Steve Howden - Lead Guitar/Piano/Lead Vocals/Bass.
