Description
This is Status Records ST 8227, Ray Bryant Trio, an orange label, mono issue of this classic record with Van Gelder stamped in the dead wax. The record looks in near mint condition showing almost no signs of wear, but it plays quietly, with an occasional light background hiss, never above the music. The cover has water damage on the bottom causing creasing and discoloration but is otherwise intact. The labels are excellent with light spindle marks. The record was played on a Linn Sondek LP12 in mono mode and cleaned on a VPI 17. If you can accept the hiss and the water damaged cover, this is still a fine collector's grade copy of a beautiful early mono recording.
