DESCRIPTION -
Issued during the colored-vinyl craze of 1978-80, this limited edition pressing of one of the most famous and influential LPs of all time was made by "Capitol of Canada"--and so, for a California boy like me, the package is just different enough from the incredibly-familiar U.S. issue to make it a sort of alternate-universe trip!
I mean, EVERYBODY knows that SGT.P.L.H.C.B. is numbered SMAS 2653, right? (Just say yes!) But HERE the Canadian back cover and spine say SEAV-11840, and that JUST LOOKS STRANGE to me!
And along the very bottom of the famous deep-red lyric-laden back cover, there is a line of text I'm also not used to seeing: "3109 AMERICAN DRIVE, MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO, L4V 182." (Okay I'm just kidding around, I actually DIG these slight cover variations from the old familiar U.S. album!) -- please see 2nd pic, where I have cleverly combined 2 different views to show you close-ups of these unique Canadianisms.
The one-sheet paper "Sgt. Pepper Cut-Outs" that originally came with all versions in every country is still included here.
No colored-vinyl version was ever issued in the U.S.A., and this Canadian "marbled" edition was taken out of print soon after it first came out--so all in all, it's a real rarity!

CONDITION -
NOTE: Please check my "Feedback Profile" -- many people have said things like, "Condition even better than described!"
I am confident you will be thrilled with your purchase!
The RECORD appears near-mint and utterly flawless; I would say it has never been played except for the obvious "non-virgin" look of the disc's spindle hole. So it must have been played once! • • • When I spot-checked it, I heard only really very minor rare static ticks in a couple of places--the sort generally consistent with anything pressed on colored vinyl. My overall vinyl grade: A
The COVER looks sharp, sturdy and shiny, with a few specific areas showing slight wear--1) The bottom edge is shelf-worn (though all other edges are actually not), with a slight half-inch seam split occurring right in the bottom-center from the sharp record edge; 2) There is minor denting of the corners; 3) The back side spine edge shows a couple of small, white worn spots; and 4) There is a hint of a ring just visible along the left back cover. Certainly nothing major--in fact, it looks quite nice. • • • The inside of the gatefold looks excellent, with one or two tiny spots near the top that look like very small manufacturing pocks in the thin cardboard. (The white stripe visible along the right edge of the front cover is also leftover from the cover's manufacture, where they didn't trim it off!)
My overall cover grade: A-
The "Sgt. Pepper Cut-outs" INSERT SHEET is in excellent condition, with just one minor crease from a slight fold in the paper along the left edge (now smoothed out). My insert sheet grade: A-
*****(NOTE: I have removed the record and put it in a new anti-static "rice-paper" audiophile archival sleeve.)*****

ABOUT GRADING -
I don’t like having stuff returned so I tend to grade conservatively, using a traditional teacher’s scale of A-F. Here's my general criteria for vinyl:
A+ ) pristine; unplayed. "M" (Mint) in standard terms
A ) excellent; minimal plays; without flaws. "NM" (Near Mint)
A- ) superb sound; may exhibit very light sleeve scuffing or other marks that do not affect play, or perhaps very few occasional random pops & clicks from static or invisible embedded dust; may have light needle-drop crackling at very start of sides.
"NM-" or "EX" (Excellent)
B+ ) clean sound, with light vinyl wear evident in quiet passages; no gouges, skips or deep scratches. "VG+" (Very Good+)
B ) plays well; may have occasional crackles or pops; slightly worn but undamaged. "VG"
B- ) enjoyable overall, possibly having crackling that isn't really noticeable while music plays; grooves may be respectfully well-worn, or may be in superb shape except for some single significant flaw. "VG-"
C ) playable; passable, but flawed throughout in a major way; consistent crackles & pops. "G" (Good)
D ) rough; very worn, possibly to distortion; explosive vinyl noises. "G-" or "F" (Fair)
F ) exhibits use as a skateboard or frisbee; completely unplayable. "P" (Poor) in standard terms
[In my experience the standard grading system of M/NM/EX/VG/G +/- is generally used to deceive rather than enlighten, thus my use of an A-F scale instead.]
I grade a record’s condition first visually, then audibly by carefully spot-playing each track (if the record’s not still sealed of course) in at least two places, using a new needle and a balanced audiophile turntable. I try to note any obvious problems with the condition of the cover or vinyl record (or any other part of the product) in my description. I do try to get the dust specks off with an anti-static record-cleaning cloth if needed, but I never use liquid cleaners and actually prefer to leave any extreme cleaning to the buyer, since audiophiles tend to be picky with their differing ways. I use anti-static "rice paper" inner sleeves and plastic slip cases for all my records. As you can see by my eBay feedback score, my buyers have been pretty happy with the stuff I’ve sold and how well I pack it so it gets to you without damage in transit.
RETURN POLICY -
Occasionally someone might disagree with my subjective assessment of a record’s condition so if necessary I will gladly refund the original purchase price (including shipping) – just ship the record back to me in its sturdy container. Bid with confidence, as they say…
