Rare Promo / Promotion Copy NOT FOR SALE Yellow Magic Orchestra Vinyl Record 1980 A&M Records 33 1/2 RMP Stereo Featuring "Behind the Mask" on one side and "Nice Age" and "Technopolis" on the other. Scarce promo Works fine. Appears to be in great condition. We are not record graders. We mainly deal with books. Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO) was cult hit Japanese electronic music band formed in Tokyo in 1978 by Haruomi Hosono,Yukihiro Takahashi, and Ryuichi Sakamoto. The group is still considered influential and innovative in the field of popular electronic music and were pioneers in their use of synthesizers, samplers, sequencers, drum machines, computers, and digital recording technology. They are credited with pioneering the electronic wave including synthpop, J-pop, electro, and techno, while exploring subversive sociopolitical themes throughout their career. Takahashi and Sakamoto sadly died in 2023 and their vintage records are collector items, most sought after are the rare promos.
