Sale provides a unique and exceedingly rare opportunity, for beginners and established collectors of rare vinyl alike, to acquire an unplayed copy of Safe As Milk by Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band. Released in 1970 by Buddah Records, as BDS 5063 Stereo and having been previously released as BDS 5001, this Long Play, near mint vinyl record, with near mint sleeve and liner bag was acquired by the seller whilst working in London during the late 1970's. Purchased new by the seller, this record has never been played since acquisition. Visually, the playing surface of the record is unblemished, as anyone wishing to finally play this rare LP would soon discover. Having been stored for many years, together with other rare records currently for sale on ebay and now forming part disposal of my own vast library of original 7" and 12" singles, EP's and albums, accumulated over many years, this is a reluctant sale of a truly treasured possession and a one-off opportunity to acquire this must-have addition to any seriously advanced vinyl record collection. Sale provides a golden opportunity for any fans of Captain Beefheart, or slide-maestro Ry Cooder who was a member of the Magic Band at the time of the recording, or indeed, anyone wishing to acquire original pop memorabilia, or just generally interested in the popular music of the 1970's. The starting price for this auction reflects the condition of the disc, sleeve and liner bag, which, other than a slight indentation to the upper right area of the rear sleeve, clearly shown in the photographs supporting the sale, are in terrific condition. So don't delay, start bidding, as I am confident that this rare and highly collectable record will not last very long.
