Description

Sale provides a unique and exceedingly rare opportunity, for beginners and established collectors of rare vinyl alike, to acquire an unplayed copy of Chuck Berry's Golden Decade Volume 3. Released by Chess in the 1970's and combining some of Chuck's early recordings onto two discs, these mono Long Play, near mint vinyl records, with liner bags and gatefold outer sleeve, showing only minimal handling wear, were acquired by the seller whilst working for Philips Records; in London during the late 1970's. Forming part disposal of the Company record library and as an unplayed file copy, this double album was never played and has never been played since acquisition by the seller. Visually, the playing surfaces of both records are unblemished, as anyone wishing to finally play these rare LP's would soon discover. Having been stored for many years, together with other rare records currently for sale on ebay and now forming part disposal of my own vast library of original 7" and 12" singles, EP's and albums, accumulated over many years, this is a reluctant sale of a truly treasured possession and a one-off opportunity to acquire this must-have addition to any seriously advanced vinyl record collection. Sale provides a golden opportunity for any Chuck Berry fans, or indeed, anyone wishing to acquire original Rock and Roll records, written and played by the Master himself, or just generally interested in the music of the 1950's, 60's and 70's. The starting price for this auction reflects the condition of the discs, gatefold sleeve and liner bags, which other than a slight separation to the rear of the outer sleeve, clearly shown in the photographs supporting the sale, are in terrific condition, so don't delay, start bidding, as I am confident that this rare and highly collectable double album will not last very long.
As a footnote and as a commonly known error on copies of Chuck's Golden Decade Volume 3, although Record 1 Side 2 Track 1 is "Anthony Boy" on the disc, the outer sleeve shows "Broken Arrow". A mistake in the manufacturing process that does not appear to have ever been corrected. Anyway, it's still a great album!
