This is an original 12" single vinyl record, not a Cd, or DVD.  It is guaranteed original, not a re-issue.

THIS IS THE HOLY GRAIL OF DISCO MUSIC HISTORY

This classic vinyl pressing is from my personal collection. I was a New York City nightclub DJ from 1972 through 1988, and I am auctioning off most of my classic record collection for others to enjoy.  

Some of the labels (or covers) contain bpm (beats per minute) or written musical notation for the opening (drum) hook.  This convenience minimizes the so-called "cue-burn" that many other DJ's get when they keep playing the same spot on the records' opening hook at the beginning of a song.  I've done this for clean play, which is now to your advantage. 

As for the bpm notation...I was the first Disco DJ to introduce this tempo counting concept in early 1974, so you may find the bpm notation....somewhere...on very early Disco records.  This technique was to organize unknown promo songs by their speed.   My friends nicknamed me the "human metronome," since I could count 120 beats per minute exactly, on time, without looking at a second hand.  This peticular talent did have its advantages.

Since the tempo of Disco Music falls categorically into the range of 100 to 140 BPM, 120 falls in the middle, or median of the disco speed.   Half the way up from 100 is < 120...and half the way down from 140 is > 120 BPM.   This ""perk" came in handy, later on in my DJ career, since I could easily recognize the tempo of a song, and not have to make a notation on the record.   

 I'll tell you which records have these notations.  I'm explaining this to you now...so you'll be absolutely informed as to what they are, how to take advantage of them, and if you ever have to explain what they are to someone else.  Believe me, there should never be a negative connotation because a vinyl record has musical notes on it, nor should it ever affect a bidding price. 

Since I was at the beginning of the emergence of the disco era,  these records have lots of history to them.  This record was never in a record store being manhandled by hundreds, if not thousands of careless people.  The only other caring fingerprints on this record could have been from other professional DJ / artists of my time such as:  the legendary Walter Gibbons (DJ remixer) Jim Burgess (DJ / Producer / Remixer) Ray F. Caviano ( RFC Records / Producer) Eddie Rivera (International Disco Record Center) Jenny Costa (WKTU guest DJ), David Mancuso (The Loft at 99 Prince St. / Record Pool) or David Morales (For The Record / Def Jam / Producer / Songwriter / Remixer).   If this record could talk!

All of my auctioned records are in excellent condition, and can be programmed in clubs today, to the likeness of quality they had "back in the day"  otherwise they will not be listed.

Hardly played original pressing.   Vinyl is in near mint condition.  (I only call records mint if they are still in shrink-wrap and unopened, which doesn't mean they are flawless.)  Since allmost all 12" promotional copies produced in that era didn't come in shrink wrap, this eliminates my category of "mint" for DJ copies.  This record has virtually no "crackling" or slight "pops" in the dead wax area.  This is highly unusual for a 30 year old record, not to mention all the hiss, and cracking I hear in brand new store-bought vinyl.  Remember...we're dealing in vinyl...something that lasts for all eternity...not like tapes or CD's where their musical content "vaporizes" after 100 years.  

 VINYL CONDITION    Goldmine Standards: Mint / Near Mint. Fresh and clean, just a couple of very slight paper scrapes (does not affect play whatsoever), no scratches, no crackeling or pops, bright luster, no label wear or fading, kept in a smoke free well ventilated, dehumidified, air-conditioned environment for decades.  This record plays in immaculate condition.  

Cover Condition:   Very Good.    This VERY RARE Promo copy "FOR DISCO DJ's ONLY" has a 20th Century label  pasted in the top right hand corner of this basic white cover measuring  7 1/2" X  4".   It is original.  This cover is most important in defining the overall value.  Some yellowing and signs of slight wear can be easily seen on the entire cover.  Seams were split on the bottom, and top.  Clear tape was used to remedy it.  Very slight ringwear.  Paper sleeve is in excellent condition.  This record has the bpm note on the original cover...not on the vinyl.   BOTH the record, and the cover to this one....is priceless. 

Originally distributed by Billy Smith at 20th CenturyRecords, and given to David Mancuso's "99 Prince St. NYC Record Pool" (better known as the infamous "Loft",) this classic vinyl is a highly sought after rare find, especially in this condition.

This "underground" promo copy was given to only a selected group of top Club DJ's, like myself, 30 years ago.  This classic production from Barry White is all out class!   The late, great, Barry White and The Love Unlimited Orchestra,  was undeniably the greatest thing to happen to dance music. He invented, and perfected, the lush string orchestration that defines sophisticated Disco music.  Here, the opening percussion is what this recording is all about.  Then it ripps open after a slight hush, then proceeds into it's musical identity, only to break out all over again.  The orchestral performance of this record is sometimes overwhelming.  Can recorded music be this good?   Yes!!!     And Barry proves it. 

This was a highly collectable record when it was originally released, and went for a hefty price then.  Now you can have the opportunity to own this piece of musical history! 

I will extend to you this vinyl classic dream , the same way it was presented to me three decades ago in its original cover.  I've bought brand new vinyl from stores that weren't in this good condition. 

 The label "FOR DISOC DJ'S ONLY" proudly states on the top, that this is no ordinary record.  This ultra-rare Promo record is one of the first pressings made, loud and clear, for DJ's only, played only once or twice at some of the top clubs in NYC.

This actual record caused thousands to scream, sing, dance and dream to.

I will place insurance on this record for the winning bidder (it's really included in the S&H.)  It is irreplaceable, and it's bidding may go well into the hundreds if not thousand dollar mark.   Bid wisely on this great piece of musical history.  It can easily become the headliner in your impressive collection, like it was for me.
