Description

At Fillmore East is the first live album by the Allman Brothers Band, and their third release overall. Produced by Tom Dowd, the album was released in July 1971 in the US by Capricorn Records. Recording took place at the Fillmore East in NYC. It was recorded over three nights in March 1971 and features the band performing extended jam versions of songs such as"Whipping Post", "You Don't Love Me" and "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed." It was issued in its first commercial release as a double LP with just seven songs across four vinyl sides.

As guitarist Dickey Betts later described, "That was our pinnacle. The Fillmore days are definitely the most cherished memories that I have. If you asked everybody in the band, they would probably say that."

At Fillmore East was included by Rolling Stone at number 49 in their 2003 list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, describing it as"rock's greatest live double LP." The album was one of 50 recordings chosen in 2004 by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry and was also included in the books 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (2005) and 1,000 Recordings To Hear Before You Die (2008).

Vinyl is in VG+ condition, graded conservatively because I have a high standard for grading NM.  This record has very minor signs of wear and I must admit I played it once all the way through just to confirm it was indeed the album listed on the label.  It sounds glorious!
Comes with an album cover as pictured (likely not the original album cover, as test pressings are usually delivered to the record label in a different cover). Will ship free UPS insured for the final value to US addresses in rigid cardboard mailer with protective cardboard inserts.  LPs will be individually packed in their own generic white cardboard sleeve and paper dust jacket, inside individual plastic outer sleeves.
