Rare Party With the Pixies Three 1960s Girl Group LP

Ever heard of The Pixies Three? Probably not, as the group was a short-lived 1960s girl group that released ONLY ONE LP during their short existence which makes the LP in this auction only more desirable and VERY hard to find. They were among the first original girl groups of the 1960s. The Pixies Three were Kaye, Debbie and Midge. (Sorry, but no last names given in the linear notes on the reverse cover of the LP.) The Goldmine Price Guide to Collectible Record Albums (5th edition) states “Party With The Pixies Three illustrates how the record industry viewed the proper presentation of a girl group prior to the introduction of the Carnaby Street “mod” via the British Invasion in 1964”. And how true the statement is! Do you notice the clothes and hairstyles similar to what was shown on TV on The Patty Duke Show of the same era? In fact one of the “Pixies” even looks like Patty Duke! Anyway, this was definitely a “PARTY” LP per many of the titles of the cuts on it such as: “Welcome to the Party”, “House Party”, “Party Lights”, “Birthday Party”, “Party, Party, Party”, and “After the Party”. This LP, “Party With the Pixies Three” is a mono LP. It is Mercury MG 20912 released in 1964. The COVER is GRADED NICE VG+ CONDITION. There is slight wear on the corners, some aging of the white reverse and two “x” marks (one in black and the other in red) on the rear cover at top left as you can see in the images. Still, the cover is very nice with no wear on the front slick at all and no split or weak seams. The VINYL is GRADED BEAUTIFUL NEAR MINT CONDITION!! In fact, I don’t see a mark on it. In fact, it looks unplayed!! Labels are also perfect. It also comes with its original Mercury Records inner sleeve that promotes six other Mercury recording artists including Lesley Gore (remember “It’s My Party”; it seems “party” was a key word in 1960s girl-produced hits), Brook Benton, Johnny Mathis, and Sarah Vaughan. If you collect this genre of records, you will not want to pass up bidding on this RARE, SINGLE LP produced by that 1960s girl-group, The Pixies Three!!!
