Edward Canfield calls this gem one of the rarest of RCA's Living Stereo LPs and also one of their best sounding as well
This is one of the original pressings, not one of the re-issues (which are themselves excellent). Both the the performances of the Bizet and Gounod suites by the Royal Opera House Orchestra under Alexander Gibson are as outstanding as the sound.
The album on offer is superb. The vinyl itself is in excellent condition. This rating is based, not on a visual inspection or a spot sampling of the grooves but on a start-to-finish careful listening twice through. I heard no repeating pops, tics. or scratches. It was a very clean listen. There appear to be two very light abrasion marks on Side 1 last band, but they play through quietly.
The album cover is in good, not excellent, condition. The front and back covers are clear and clean. The top seem is split 1/4 of the length and the spine is split a bit at the top. The lettering on the spine is still easily readable.
It is hard to find these performances in their original pressings. Don't miss this one. I rarely sells records, but I have sold another Living Stereo Royal Opera House recording to a buyer in Europe, and he was most pleased with the condition of the pressings and my accurate description of them.
