The ultimate Beatles collectors Christmas present.
You are bidding on an original circa 1967 Apple Records promotional wristwatch, face measuring 4cm x 4cm and total lenght of 24cm.A new leather strap has been fitted but can be taken off and the original white PVC strap can easily be fitted to its original state. The back of the watch is engraved “Old England,” and the original white PVC strap is stamped in gold, “Made in England, Old England, Copyright Old England Watches Ltd 1967.” Includes the original gift box , also gilt-stamped “Old England” and reading, “Original design by Richard Loftus,” along the side and the original suede pouch stamped Old England. In fine condition, with a few light marks and dings; the watch is in working order and was recently serviced and keeps good time.
This was one of the officially licensed Beatles watches produced during the 1960s, and by some estimates only about one hundred were manufactured.Given out to promote Apple records at Abbey road and also sold in the short lived Beatles boutique in London. An attractive Beatles collectable made even rarer by the presence of the original box.
Ringo Starr has recently sold his at auction $7000 + (pic 4) and George Harrison's was sold from his estate a few years ago. This was purchased from an auction house in Buckinghamshire England. Could this be John's or Paul's. ??????
The quality of my camera isn't very good, the original white PVC strap has yellowed over the years, but it is 50 + years old.
