I'm very pleased to offer this very rare item for sale on eBay.
This is a very rare 3 LP set, which to the best of my knowledge has never before been offered for sale or displayed on eBay or anywhere on the Internet.
It may well be the only copy that exists.
This is a 3 vinyl LP set of the TEST PRESSING for the legendary, groundbreaking minimalist opera Einstein On The Beach, by the brilliant Philip Glass and Robert Wilson.
This is a test pressing for the original pressing of the set, released on Tomato Records. I believe this to be the Tomato Records pressing based on my research and the matrix information written in the run out groove of the LPs.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The final, released set consisted of 4 LPs. Sadly, in this test pressing set, record 3, sides E and F, is missing.
The condition of the vinyl records is VG to VG+. By Goldmine standards this is my assessment of the record's condition. There are a few light hairline marks, and one or two heavier marks, on some sides of the set.
Typically, test pressings are played once or twice, sometimes by the artist, producer or a record company employee, to make sure there is no technical flaw with the pressing. Very few are made and they rarely if ever make it into the hands of the general public.
The sleeves are generic, white, die-cut sleeves. Some yellowed tape can be seen on the sleeves, as well as handwriting and identification labels. A sticker on the generic white sleeve of one record of this set reads, "side B off-center; will not be on final production."
