Rare! Moussorgsky on RCA Liv Stereo VCS-2659
(Click to Enlarge) Description You can find records rarer than this one, but not many. You won't find another copy this week on eBay, and there hasn't been one recently. There's not one copy available at any price at www.gemm.com (where you can find almost anything, usually).

Here is a NM vinyl copy of THE POWER OF THE ORCHESTRA, RCA shaded dog (see photo) #VCS-2659. The music is Moussorgsky's A Night on Bare Mountain paired with Pictures at an Exhibition. It's the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, with Leibowitz conducting.

The front of the record jacket shows some shelf wear; you will see some surface scrapes or scratches in the photo. All the seams are fine and the back of the jacket is very clean. The record itself looks unplayed and must be that or virtually so. Under a strong light there's not a blemish to be seen.

We've only seen this rare item once before, and we sold it on eBay for $225. [The Canfield Guide to Classical Recordings published three years ago says $300.] We acquired this copy we're selling now at a local auction in a collection of records; we paid much less for this one than for the first one we sold, so we've dropped the asking price on your behalf; grab it!

This will ship anywhere in the US by Media Mail for $2.94. We'd be happy to ship it Parcel Post or Priority Mail, if you wish, or by international mail; international bidders always are welcome.

SHIPPING COSTS: The high bidder pays $2.94 for shipping and handling. Sometimes, our auctions calculate shipping by Priority Mail for USA domestic orders, because it is the safest way to ship collectibles. When appropriate to the merchandise, for reasons of cost and weight, we'll calculate postage by Media Mail. [Media Mail is less costly, and works well about 95% of the time, but, alas, it can be extremely slow on occasion, requiring weeks instead of days; patience can be a real virtue with Media Mail.] So, always read "Description" to be certain how postage was calculated. Any time you want another postal category than the one we calculated, that's fine; just tell us after the auction. We recommend Priority Mail as safe and fast. The Shipping cost of every package we ship is the postage plus $1.10. This "handling" fee pays the out-of-pocket cost of the average cost of shipping materials -- cartons, bubble wrap, pens, tape, et al. We hope you can re-use these materials, but their primary purpose is to assume safe passage through the postal system.

• INSURANCE: Insurance is optional and must be requested by and paid for by the high bidder. Insurance costs whatever USPS is charging for it. That's $1.30 for packages under $50 in value, etc., in the US. Postal insurance is expensive compared to the risk being insured; so far this year, nearly 100% of our shipments have reached their destination unharmed (there were 2 exceptions among hundreds).
• INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS: International customers need to contact us prior to sending payment. For international shipments our fee is the actual postage plus $1.10. Usually, choices are Air Mail or Surface Mail. Experience has shown that Air Mail is safer as well as much faster than Surface Mail. But Air Mail is costly; so we will ship Surface Mail at your request. Our postal system in the US makes insurance available only on international shipments weighing more than 4 pounds. We fill out customs forms honestly; please do not ask us to enter false information about the market value of your merchandise.
• COMBINING SHIPMENTS: We love to save you money on postage. The postal rate system is stacked against single purchases and in favor of heavier packages. To save on per-item shipping costs, you are always wise to buy multiple items from any eBay seller or online store and ship all your items in one package. We'll gladly hold onto merchandise you've paid for until you accumulate a larger package, if you wish.
• CUSTOMER SATISFACTION: We strive for 100% customer satisfaction. We pack items well. Nevertheless, once in awhile there is breakage or loss in the mails; remember, the small risk in shipping is your risk.
