Description

Rare record and great item for all Grateful Dead collectors.

White labels and what look like private printed cover, open  at the top, with two spaces for record, or one for record one for insert ? or just that how it was home made (?). Just one record what looks like correct as on cover there is list of tracks just for that one record.

 Interesting art work.

On front of the cover only title "Dire Wolf" , no band name.

Text at the back of the cover : Grateful Dead / Fillmore East April 1971.

Sound is not perfect but as for unofficial release, sound is  not bad.

There is a bit of surface noise in background sometimes but big parts are excellent. There is little scratch at the end of side A ( 7 + 4 or 5 repeating noises but not very loud).

There is also  surface noise at the beginning of side B, repeating noise through first half of  first track-annoying (good), later a bit of quiet single surface noises in background sometimes, sound is ex-.

Actual recording is vg+ to ex-.

One of the best drums solo in the middle of side A, remind me of masterpiece from In-A-Gadda-Da Vida, similar "space" & skills . Side A is like short song changing in long wonderful psychedelic middle (first drums than whole band) and finishing with another short song.

Record not for audiophiles but rather for collectors who can appreciate rarity of record.
