Description
Very difficult to obtain two record set (one two-sided LP and one one-sided LP with a blank flip side) of 31 unreleased or demo versions of Gordon Lightfoot from the 64-66 era. Similar to the so-called Whitmark demos of Bob Dylan from the same era.
Condition
Both records are conservatively STRONG VG- possessing good sheen and lustre but with a few very light surface marks from having been stored sleeveless. These demo records did not come with any printed covers and are sold here with plain white sleeves. The two-sided LP has a very small edge warp that produces a few seconds of “whooshing” (no skips), most noticeable on the first track of Side 2 “That Innocent Look.” Audibly, there is some surface noise prevalent throughout including sporadic clicks or pops (at no point is there any skipping). Part of this is due to the fact that the records certainly weren’t mastered with any care and partly due to the fact that each side has 9+ songs. It is of roughly if not slightly better quality than the available versions of this record found online.
