Description
The Metamorhosis album by Giles, Giles & Fripp represents that groups transformation into King Crimson. Initially the Giles brothers having turned professional in 1964 and who had been in a number of bands and played over 1,300 gigs were looking for a keyboard player, but none could be found on a permanent basis. Robert Fripp, a guitarist was recommended to them, they auditioned him and brought him into the band. They moved to Bournemouth with the plan to play gigs in London which required less travel in order to focus on developing their music. It worked for a time, but then they lost their primary benefactor due to an unfortunate incident who among other things had been providing them with housing. Things got tough and Peter Giles their Bassist and one of the Vocalists, left. Prior to this however, they had been joined by Ian McDonald and Peter Sinfield. Although not appearing on these recordings, they replaced Peter Giles with Greg Lake on Bass and the Metamorphosis was complete. Judy Dyble who went on to become famous in her own right appears on two of the songs and there is an early version of "I Talk to the Wind." A recording of history in the making and quite rare. This example remains sealed and has never been played. This is a Limited Edition, Number 384.
