Gene Norman was a U.S. American Concert Promoter and Disc Jockey in Los Angeles, appearing on KLAC and KFWB from 1947 thru 1964. In 1954 he founded a record label known "Gene Norman Presents", which later became GNP Crescendo.[1] Among his earliest records were jazz sessions with Chet Baker and Gerry Mulligan, Clifford Brown and Max Roach and Miles Davis Lionel Hampton and Dizzy Gillespie. In addition to his concert impresario and deejay roles, he owned "The Crescendo" a jazz club on the famous Sunset Strip where many jazz and Latin music stars such as Miles Davis, George Shearing and Tito Puente appeared. This 78 rpm, two record set with jacket has the following songs: "Indiana", Air Mail Special" "Oh Lady Be Good" and "All The Things You Are". The musicians on these records are as follows: Nature Boy on Piano, Stan Getz on Tenor Sax, Red Norvo on Vibes, Charlie Shavers on Trumpet, Willie Smith on Alto Sax, Oscar Moore on Guitar, Louie Bellson on Drums and Johnny Miller on Bass. The condition of one jacket is excellent for it's age and the records are Near Mint. The second jacket has some water staining and only one record by Andre Previn. It is very difficult to find this one album much less two.
