Discovery – I Know What You're After

Rare Original Irish Private Press 7" Vinyl | Undercover Records DC001 | 1980

A genuine original Irish private-press 7-inch single released in 1980 on Undercover Records (DC001).

This scarce release was produced by Noel Redding (legendary bassist with The Jimi Hendrix Experience), who also played the guitar solo on the B-side, "Cold As Ice". The record features Gerry Laine, whose musical career continued with the Cork rock band Driveshaft.

According to Irish music archives, only 1,000 copies were pressed. The single received airplay on RTÉ, but Gerry Laine soon changed the band's musical direction, leading to the formation of Driveshaft. Many of the remaining unsold copies of this release were subsequently relabelled as the first Driveshaft single, making original Discovery-labelled copies significantly harder to find today.
