Description

After collecting for over 50 years...Its time to starting clearing out a number of my recordings. Most of these will be in the 1898 to 1910 period with a few exceptions going up into the 1930s. I've enjoyed these recordings and I hope you will too. These records will be shipped in a box wrapped with cardboard and bubble wrap to protect them.

There are a lot of records to go. As you will see the pile of them in the picture.

An extremely rare Consolidated Gramophone Record - Broadway Show Number By S. H. Dudley - 11/12/00.  This record early in its life was adjusted to fit a Standard phonograph and the spindle hole was enlarged. It has a washer in place now that fits very nicely and is quite well centered. The record plays well for what it is. No skips, no hung grooves, but a bit fuzzy on the intro and then the voice and piano are quite strong and are louder than the surface noise by a good margin. This was a hit from the Broadway Musical "The Ameer". Sung here by S.H. Dudley on the first paper labeled disc. Eldridge Johnson's short lived Consolidated Gramophone Disc. Soon to be changed after Johnson lost the right in court to use the word "gramophone".  This rare disc is in good condition, there is as seen on photos some damage to the label. But after hearing many of these records play, it falls under a good average or good in my mind.
