This item comes from a collection of rare and desirable classical records which I have been collecting over the years. There are many highly sought after "Golden Age" stereo pressings form Decca SXL, Columbia SAX, HMV ASD, Philips 'Hi-Fi Stereo', Mercury Living Presence, RCA Living Stereo series, audiophile and TAS listed items, and early mono pressings on Les Discophiles Francais, Ducretet-Thomson, Lumen, Pre-Melodiya etc. Featuring artists and conductors such as Furtwangler, Ansermet, Klemperer, Cluytens, Kempe, Szell, Campoli, Ricci, Oistrakh, Milstein, Kogan, Shafran, Rostropovich, Starker, Fournier, Mainardi, Martzy, Ida Haendel and many others.

Highly sought-after original first stereo pressing on Decca Records SXL 2205, wide band deep grooved label with "Original recording by" credit at 10 o'clock and the earliest 2M/1M matrices.
The record is extremely well-preserved and appears glossy and flat with only a couple of very light non-sounding marks. The condition is a conservative NM-. The cover is also NM-. It would be very difficult to find a better example of this scarce audiophile treasure.

The LP is first removed from the cover and then placed in a protective plastic outer sleeve to avoid seam splits. Extra care is taken with fragile items such as shellac discs and boxed sets.
