Rare Aretha Franklin 78 RPM single with Never Grow Old (Side A) and You Grow Closer (Side B). This is Aretha's first single which was released in 1956 under the JVB label. Aretha was just 14 years old when this music was recorded.
JVB Records was founded in 1948 by Detroit R&B independent Joe Von Battle. He was the first black independent record producer in the post-war period in the United States. Von Battle regularly recorded the sermons of C.L. Franklin (Aretha's father) and was the first to record the voice of Aretha Franklin.
