The Discovery Of The North Pole" by Commander Robert E. Peary. 12-inch, one-sided 78rpm - Victor 70012. Commander Peary speaks about his Polar exploration and discoveryRare Historical recording . . .Recorded in New York - January 14, 1910. This recording of Peary's accomplishment was recorded only a month after Victor had released Dr. Frederick Cook's recorded claim of the same discovery.(Cook's claim was discredited and honors and awards were rescinded)The Cook record was withdrawn by Victor and never reached Victor's full catalog for 1910. This record by Commander Peary is Peary's only released recording . . .Good to Good+ condition.
