Description
The very rare programme for this early festival, the UK version of Monterey, where rock first clashed with jazz and blues and R & B. Features great early photographs and hilarious write-ups on some of the bands.
An original 16 page Souvineer programme from August 1965 that covered this small three day event, the forerunner to the huge Windsor festivals that are still running today.
This copy is in good, clean and original condition without marks or tears inside or on the cover.
Another 1960's item from my collection and again, it has been stored in warm dry, dark conditions inside a file since the weekend of the festival, (at the Richmond Athletic ground, home of the legendary Crawdaddy Club, which itself saw the birth of The Rolling Stones and The Yardbirds, with regulars The Action, Chicken Shack, Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers - every version! - Steam Packet, Brian Auger - and Julie Driscoll's very first attempt at singing live! - and too many others to remember).
It does have an almost invisible fold from when I originally carried it home, which has flattened out over the decades, and a loose, but undamaged center page. Inside, it's perfect with no writing or tears or marks of any kind and is a very rare collector's item now, with 17 photographs of most of the artists shown below and a general write up on them all and on the festival's history and purpose.

Not listed, but playing were The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, who were only eclipsed by an incredible performance from Graham Bond with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker, later to from The Cream of course, with Eric Clapton.
No apologies for setting a high starting price; this is a rare and very interesting item in good condition for it's age.
NB: This item may be picked up in person, or will be despatched securely only by Special delivery in the UK, so it will need to be signed for on delivery; I will not send it to a PO box or care of a business address. Due to it’s rarity, it will be very securely packed and, as usual, there will be no charge for the packing.
