Description

Up for auction is this rare Modern Art lp by the great alto player Art Pepper. It is on the Intro label ilp 606 microgroove. This original vinyl lp has a copyright date of 1951 on the album cover. The record has visible scratches , but as I am not a record expert I am not grading it. I attempted to photograph some of the most visible scratches. I do remember playing it years ago and it had some pops but it played. The album cover is in decent condition but has the seam split and top and bottom are taped. No tears or creases, some scuffing but readable. This record is part of a collection that I purchased from a friend of our family that was Chet Bakers best friend and who was also a great alto player ,but unknown. His name was Dean Netz, Chets' son Dean is named after him. These records were bought new by Mr. Netz in the 1950's , so I am only the second owner. I never played them much, this particular record I played maybe twice. I have more Art Pepper and west coast jazz records including Charlie Parker 78's on Dial from the collection that I will continue to post in the coming weeks so keep checking. This is a rare opportunity to own one of the rarest jazz lp's  The seminal recording by Art Pepper with Russ Freeman Piano,Chuck Flores Drums and Ben tucker on Bass This is a no reserve auction! Thanks for looking , good luck with your bidding!
