One of the things this GREAT Weekly pop music countdown show,  National Music Survey,   that most distinguished it,     was that Westwood  One spared nothing in giving week after week the best music and features of any weekly top hits countdown show.    First it was Dick Clark but then he went back to United Stations.  So, they took the same format and the show still ruled.        Of course there was Casey who always ruled the ratings,    but he relied on his personality.  The commercials absolutely killed you.   Believe me!  Buy an American Top 40 and see for yourself.         You often heard one or at the most two songs for each segment and then minutes and minutes and minutes and minutes of commercials.  When you buy these radio shows you get commercials, Casey, and then the music.  That's not the way it is supposeD to be.     The music is what drives the shows and then after that you want the interviews AND DJ PERSONALITY.   Casey gave you commercials, features and then music and rarely interviews.    .  So why do Casey shows sell for so much?  I don't know to tell you the truth.  This show gives you everything - music, interviews, special features and personality.   You won't get a long distance dedication which was always so phony and written by Casy's staff   but you will get real interviews and real music.               This show comes  on three BEAUTIFUL stereo virgin vinyl records that look like the day they were pressed.  This baby was played once and once only, the day it was aired (or not at all).  The records themselves are very attractive with  a circular logo of the show on the top with the show information on the bottom.   It is surrounded by a blue band that makes the white and red inside very attrative.      The cue sheets are in excellent condition.      The entire show comes in an attractive album cover in a deep blue with the National Music Survey logo in the middle in white and red.  The Mutual Radio Network logo is across the bottom.  It is very attractive and belongs in your collection.    The entire show was syndicated on the Mutual Broadcasting System before it became Westwood One.  This is truly a vintage and special show and belongs in your collection.  In addition, to the top 25   you will hear many features and inteviews that will blow your socks off.  If you like 80's music, this is the show for you.  The national commercials are included on this show and beleive me, from 23 years ago, they are fun to hear again.  We have come a long way, baby!   Not convinced yet?  Well, this listing is for  7 GREAT SHOWS  spead out through the years 1988 and 1989.  I will give you the complete listing for one of the shows and the fetured artists for the other shows.    Here is the countdown for one of the shows, show #89-10 in the series which aired on March 4, 1989.    There were features with  Dan Hill, .38 Special, Bette Midler,  Taylor Dayne, the Bangles,  Anita Baker and Sheriff!!!!                OK?  Here we go, the Top 25 for the week of  March 4, 1989 along with all the extras !                                           Let The River Run - Smaller markets had to take the satellite feed.  So at the very most there were only 175 copies of each show ever.  How many survived as did the ones I have is anyone's guess.  but you can own one of them!!!              Remember, when you buy this show, not only will you own the tunes but also interspersed between songs is fascinating commentary on the artists and songs.  Also, keep in mind that this and all the oldies shows  I offer to you are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere.  It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining.  As well, it is a piece of radio history.  You just aren't going to find these shows anymore.  Think of what they will be worth in a few years!  (IF you wanted to sell.)  I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price; in fact, believe it or not, I paid a lot more than you will because I tried to get the entire collection of this syndicated show.  I almost made it but then the sources dried up.  The dj from whom I bought the ones I had left the station,  and subsequent ones I bought were hit or miss in terms of what I had or did not have.  I finally gave up.  I am saving those shows I treasure the most and sharing the rest with you for very reasonable prices.  Those I do not sell, I will just keep!  Most people even enjoy the national commercials that are included on the show because some 25-30 years later they sound good!                                       Included on this show are                          Amnesty Tour Update, George Michael Tour Update, Dentyne, Black and Decker, Sporting News,  Turner Broadcasting, Teledisc with their latest oldies compilation album release,       and more.      As you can see, only the Best National Advertisers, paid their money to advertise on this show.                     In fact, some people buy the shows for the commercials  they collect!                 Either way, it is a great show and would be a valuable addition to your collection.  As always, I charge only shipping on the first show you buy for U.S. buyers and discount the shipping for my international friends,  so the more you buy the more money you will save.  Good Luck and God Bless You.
