Hello Again, friends of great music! This show, for all you vinyl lovers, and there are a bunch out there judging by the number of you that have responded to my rare and old vinyl radio show sales, is a rare vinyl that you will not find on eBay ever.
It is called COUNTRY CLOSEUP and aired on the Narwood Productions, Inc. Entertainment Network. It was an enormously popular show in its day both because of the focus on the most popular stars of all time and because it was hosted by Glen Campbell.
It was a one hour show and featured THE GREAT COUNTRY POP ARTIST GLEN CAMPBELL HOSTING ONE COUNTRY ARTIST EACH WEEK FOR AN HOUR TRIBUTE WITH THE ARTIST IN STUDIO AND EVERY SONG DURING THE HOUR A SONG MADE FAMOUS BY THE FEATURED ARTIST. NEVER HAS THERE BEEN A SHOW LIKE THIS.
MANY SHOWS HAD FEATURED GUESTS WHO PRESENTED THEIR SONGS ALONG WITH OTHERS BY OTHER ARTISTS BUT THIS SHOW WAS EXCLUSIVELY ONE ARTIST PRESENTING HIS OR HER SONGS AND NONE OTHERS. IT IS AN HOUR TRIBUTE TO ALL YOUR FAVORITE ARTISTS AND ALL PRESENTED BY ONE THE GREATEST TALENTS OF OUR GENERATION, GLEN CAMPBELL WHO HOSTED HIS OWN POPULAR TV SHOW FOR YEARS IN THE 60'S AND 70'S ALONG WITH ALL HIS COUNTLESS HITS.
The interaction between Glen and his guest added to the specialness of this hour show.
This show probably was played on the day it aired and not since, THIRTY FIVE years later.
Each show contained from 11 to 13 tunes WITH ALL SORTS OF STORIES ABOUT THE SONG AND THE ARTIST DEVELOPED DURING THE RAPPORT BETWEEN GLEN OR LON AND HIS FEATURED ARTIST. It is an enthralling hour that will captivate you. You will be disappointed when it is over and want even more!

Remember, when you buy this show, not only will you own the tunes but also interspersed between songs is fascinating commentary on the artists and songs and ongoing dialogue between Glen and the featured artist.
Also, keep in mind that this and all shows are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere. It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining.
As well, it is a piece of radio history and Americana.
You just aren't going to find these shows anymore. Think of what they will be worth in a few years! (IF you wanted to sell.) I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price
Most people even enjoy the national commercials that are included on the show because some 20 years later they sound good! Some people buy the shows for the commercials they collect!
Either way, it is a great show and would be a valuable addition to your collection
