One of the things this GREAT Weekly pop music countdown show, Dick Clark National Music Survey,   that most distinguished it was the name Dick Clark.  Attach that name to any syndicated show and you will have millions of listeners.  Dick is known for his expertise in rock music, having been in on the ground floor of rock and roll, and his style is unmatched.  Even now millions tune in just to see HIM on New Year's Eve - not to put down Ryan Seacrest, but Dick IS New Year's Eve and always will be.  Now, this show is one of his earliest ventures into pop music survey shows and goes all the way back to  the early 80's.  It was a three hour Top  30 Countdown on three BEAUTIFUL stereo virgin vinyl rcords that look like the day they were pressed.  This baby was played once and once only, the day it was aired.  The records themselves are very attractive with  a circular logo of the show on the top with the show information on the bottom.  The circular logo spins around as you play the record and reminds me of some of the old Luniverse Records   Buchanan and Goodman 45's that had that same kind of spinning label.  The cue sheets are in a heavy bond and are a light purple in color for some of the early years and a heavy cream bond for others of the early years,  and come with the show, unmmarked and as fresh as new.  Most of the shows also have a cover sheet with the cues with programming information and another sheet with more programming information.  The entire show comes in an attractive box either with the show logo across the front with a dark background or with the show logo still across the front but a collage of pictures making up the front cover.  All have the show number  stamped in the upper right corner.  The box is only in good to very good condition - after all - it has done its job  over the years at protecting the cue sheets and records, but it still is pretty darn attractive.  The entire show was syndicated on the Mutual Broadcasting System before it became Westwood One and before Dick moved on to United Stations which he helped found.  This is truly a vintage and special show and belongs in your collection.  In addition, to the top 25 for some of the early years or the top 30 for others of the early years (the show seems to have made that shift  early in 1982.  The shows before 1982 included the top 25 with a feature artist; the shows from 1982 to1985 when he left the show, had the top 30 with flashbacks but not a featured artist. Smaller markets had to take the satellite feed.  So at the very most there were only 175 copies of each show ever.  How many survived as did the ones I have is anyone's guess.  but you can own one of them!!!              Remember, when you buy this show, not only will you own the tunes but also interspersed between songs is fascinating commentary on the artists and songs that only  Dick Clark  can provide.  Also, keep in mind that this and all the oldies shows  I offer to you are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere.  It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining.  As well, it is a piece of radio history.  You just aren't going to find these shows anymore.  Think of what they will be worth in a few years!  (IF you wanted to sell.)  I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price; in fact, believe it or not, I paid a lot more than you will because I tried to get the entire collection of this syndicated show.  I almost made it but then the sources dried up.  The dj from whom I bought the ones I had left the station,  and subsequent ones I bought were hit or miss in terms of what I had or did not have.  I finally gave up.  I am saving those shows I treasure the most and sharing the rest with you for very reasonable prices.  Those I do not sell, I will just keep!  Most people even enjoy the national commercials that are included on the show because some 25-30 years later they sound good!                                       Included on this show are                                   Activision, the company that made such great games for the Arari 2600 - WOW does that age us all!  I still have my 2600 and the 7200 also and my Activision games!,                                                 Snickers Bars,                      American Bandstand,                Hubba Bubba Gum,               Flex Revlon,                    Fostex,    Nestles,                   and more.      As you can see, only the Best National Advertisers, paid their money to advertise on this show.                     In fact, some people buy the shows for the commercials  they collect!                 Either way, it is a great show and would be a valuable addition to your collection.  As always, I charge only shipping on the first show you buy for U.S. buyers and discount the shipping for my international friends,  so the more you buy the more money you will save.  Good Luck and God Bless You.
