Description
One of the things this GREAT Weekly rhythm and blues countdown show, Tom Joyner On The Move did was to give you the greatest of the great R&B songs of the week presented by Tom Joyner, the indisputable best R&B DJ in the country. Tom is syndicated today in most major cities in our country and he has been at it since the 1980's when he worked for CBS Radio from which this show comes and his show was syndicated across the country. The show comes on three stereo lp records in virgin PRISTINE condition, aired once or never. The reason I saw 'never' is that they are packaged in a certain way when they are mailed to the stations. When you remove them from the album holder and put them back, they do not fit the same way unless you take the time to put them back exactly as they were withdrawn. I doubt that most station dj's or board ops would take the time or effort after the show to put them back in exact order so I suspect these shows were never aired. If they were, believe me, it was only once because I can't believe that anyone else who removed the shows and replaced them would have put them back exactly the same way. NOW, You all know how much better vinyl sounds than CD. If you have a decent turntable, and can transfer the show to CD, you've got it made. Play it once and you still have a great show for posterity and the music for every day of your life. Now, Tom Joyner and R&B. They are one and the same. He has been a prominent feature on major radio stations across the country for over 20 years. and is still going strong! This show is extermely rare to find which is surprising given how popular he is, but, back in the 80's there weren't as many R&B stations as there are today so his show had more limited distribution. I cam across these shows from a collector who had them in his collection for the 20 + years and then decided to sell them. I was ready to buy!!!! And, now you can own them. The show comes on three stereo lp's in new condition on beautiful vinly with the cue sheets in excellent condition and housed in a special CBS Programs cover. The cue sheets are in excellent condition. The entire show was syndicated on the CBS Broadcasting System. This is truly a vintage and special show and belongs in your collection. In addition, to the top 30 you will hear may features and inteviews that will blow your socks off. If you like 80's rhythm and blues music, this is the show for you. The national commercials are included on this show and beleive me, from 20 years ago, they are fun to hear again. We have come a long way, baby! Not convinced yet? You will get seven shows in this collection and you will love every one of them. Here are the seven shows. show airing September 11, 1987, show airing October 9, 1987, show airing February 11, 1988, show airing April 8, 1988, show airing May 27, 1988, show airing June 3, 1988, and show airing September 30, 1988. Well, here is the countdown for this week, which aired on September 11, 1987. What a special treat!!!! WOW!!!!!!!! You just cannot beat it. And remember that lp's have far more audio fidelity and quality than do CD's. Especially, when the shows are in such pristine quality. You really need this show in your collection. You have a unique opportunity to get some of the best shows ever made. All the artists featured in this series helped define rock music through their work. You will hear not only great tunes. but also interviews and stories about the artists and their music that you have never heard before. The soundtrack of our lives were shaped by this music and you will reminisce thinking of those people, events and where you were in your life. The stereo lp version of this show was only sent to the top 175 Metro markets. Smaller markets had to take the satellite feed. So at the very most there were only 175 copies of each show ever. How many survived as did the ones I have is anyone's guess. but you can own one of them!!! Remember, when you buy this show, not only will you own the tunes but also interspersed between songs is fascinating commentary on the artists and songs. Also, keep in mind that this and all the oldies shows I offer to you are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere. It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining. As well, it is a piece of radio history. You just aren't going to find these shows anymore. Think of what they will be worth in a few years! (IF you wanted to sell.) I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price; in fact, believe it or not, I paid a lot more than you will because I tried to get the entire collection of this syndicated show. I almost made it but then the sources dried up. The dj from whom I bought the ones I had left the station, and subsequent ones I bought were hit or miss in terms of what I had or did not have. I finally gave up. I am saving those shows I treasure the most and sharing the rest with you for very reasonable prices. Those I do not sell, I will just keep! Most people even enjoy the national commercials that are included on the show because some 25-30 years later they sound good! Included on this show are Wrigley Gum, CBS -TV, Peter Pan Peanut Butter, Nesltes Crunch, Hamburger Helper, Seagrams Wine Cooler, Clearasil, Budweiser, and more. As you can see, only the Best National Advertisers, paid their money to advertise on this show. In fact, some people buy the shows for the commercials they collect! Either way, it is a great show and would be a valuable addition to your collection. As always, I charge only shipping on the first show you buy for U.S. buyers and discount the shipping for my international friends, so the more you buy the more money you will save. Good Luck and God Bless You.
