Description
Released by Regal Zonophone in 1972, cat # RZ3042; this is “Rock ‘N’ Roll Christian” / “Free Sole” by Grunt Futtock.
Grunt Futtock were, in fact, a clever, jokey con dreamed up in the early Seventies, when Andrew Loog Oldham, who had discovered the Rolling Stones, and hard man Don Arden, who managed the Small Faces, decided to cash in on their reputations as talent spotters.
Gathering together a few musician pals, including Roy Wood, Peter Frampton and Steve Marriott, they went into a studio and made a quick audition tape of them playing together.
Then, after hiring a photographer to shoot some youthful art college faces, they set off to talk to two of the biggest players in rock, EMI Records and Carlin Music.
Both companies, thrilled to be offered this new group by two such successful managers, took the bait. They bought, for £10,000, a band who didn't exist.
This is a demo copy with the release date of the 28 January 1972 printed on the labels. Both labels are unmarked with NO spindle marks on either label. The playing surfaces are unmarked and are in MINT/UNPLAYED condition. The record comes in the correct company sleeve.

Postage and packing for one record will be £1 UK, £1.80 Europe and £2.50 USA and the Rest of the World. For two or THREE records, the costs are still just £1 UK, £2.40 Europe and £3.40 USA and the Rest of the World.
Insurance will be required if the value of the order exceeds £34. If you refuse insurance and the record is damage or goes missing in the post, I’m afraid we cannot be held responsible and will not entertain any claims. UK record delivery is an extra 70p and special delivery is £4.75. Overseas insurance will be either £3.50 or £5.50 dependent upon the value.
Payment by PayPal is preferred for all customers; though I will accept cheques or postal orders for UK customers. Overseas customers must pay by Paypal unless agreed otherwise prior to auction end.
