THE RWENZORI'S
HANDSOME BOY E WARA (part 1) / HANDSOME BOY E WARA (part2)
EDITIONS MAKOSSA EM 2715
1974
Click HERE and listen to our soundclip / mp3 of both sides
Desirable and unusual afro funk 2sider with syncopated rhythms, heavy percussion break and organ motifs a la Fela Kuti :) Part 1 has the pysch keyboard explorations and part 2 features the jazz horns with psychedelic wah wah guitar solo midway. A cult item with DJs into the African soul sound as the music is infectious and very hypnotic. Both sides have been comped. A hybrid mix of afro beat - funk and rock with spanky drums galore. Disc cut loud but production sound quality is more lo-fi. Most copies also come with some faint pressing burn shadow marks to small sections of the outer edge deadwax area that just touch the intro of the part 2 side. Our item has only been played a few times and comes from old deadstock that surfaced in the early 2000s
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
RECORD - closer to shiny M- regardless of a few faint hairlines cum faint light scuffs from the original pressing process / disc cut loud but production sound quality is more lo-fi with background surface noises (due to the actual pressing) / 3 thin sections of faint pressing burn shadow marks to the outer deadwax area of the Part 2 side (again common for this release)
SLEEVE - not graded - generic white card sleeve has light wear
LABEL - bright looking / minimal wear / a few faint old dirt marks from storage
After a 2 year gap, Pourquoi Moi Vintage is back :)
