Factory sample. One of the rarest albums on Deep Purple’s relatively short-lived Purple Records label Cat. No. TPSA 7502, this 1971 stereo album entitled ‘Pick up a Bone’ is by singer-songwriter folk duo Rupert Hine and David MacIver. On this recording Hine is vocalist on 11 songs and together on guitars they form the rhythm section with Simon Jeffes (acoustic, electric & slide guitars), Peter Robinson (piano, organ), Pete Morgan (acoustic & electric bass), Terry Cox (drums). Another 9 featured musicians provide orchestral arrangements.
The disc is in great condition – a hairline mark on Side 2. Audibly there are 5 faint random ticks on Side 1; 3 faint and 2 loud ticks on Side 2. "Factory Sample – Not For Sale" sticker on side 1. The textured thick gatefold sleeve, with track details, is intact with light scuffing. Front top left and rear bottom right have residue of sticky tape and labels.
