THE RUMBLERS
Inspirtation for THE CRAMPS
The Rumblers may not have had any big surf hits, but they sure did put out some great surf rock singles in the early '60s. Their song "Boss" was the basis for the psychobilly tune "Garbageman" by the Cramps, and that's quite an endorsement.
The group were from Norwalk, California and made their debut in 1962 with "Boss" on little Downey Records. They followed it with several other singles, a few of them being picked up for national distribution by Dot Records.

This one’s from December of 1962 and is that very song – “BOSS” which will be familiar to Cramps fans everywhere. It’s real Las Vegas Grind stripper music too ! On the flip is “I Don’t Need You No More.”
